The business BUNGARTZ ROOFING was established by my grand-grand father in Germany in 1890.

In Germany, one has to have an apprentice for at least three years to become a certified “roofer”.

However, I was able to acquire this certificate after only 19 months, in 1979, since I achieved the best study grades in both, the practical and the theoretical, subjects.

I have specialised in laying metal roofing, as well as slate and tile roofs and in installing gutters and copper roof piping.  Slate pictures and ornaments are also created by me, based on individual designs.

In 1983, after 4 years of further studies, I achieved my “Master Certificate” as a “Technical Manager for Roof, Wall
and Sealing at the Chamber of Commerce in  Mayen, Germany.

With my Certification and the holding the title as a “Roofmaster”, I am authorised and enabled to educate and teach
apprentices in roofing techniques.

In 1988, I became the manager of the above mentioned family-owned and –run business, until I moved to the  United States of America in August 2006.

I now live, together with my wife, at the Gulf of Mexico inFlorida.Initially, I worked for a major German-based roof tile company to expand their product to the USA.

Currently I am mainly producing slate pictures, ornaments, slate engraving and various other artistic pieces based on slate material.

Since April 2007, I also own an Art & Gift Gallery in Gulfport/St. Petersburg, FL - where I mainly sell my slate arts articles (electr. door bells, engravings and silver seated slate jewelleries).
But now - enjoy the following picture gallery and - I`m looking forward hearing from you.
